10 Things Every Bride Should Remember

1.NOT JUST ABOUT YOU

Sadly but surely it’s not just about what the bride and groom want, it’s about what the parent’s want too! Every household has its traditions, every MIL has her own idea of how things will go down, and both sides want to call shotgun to the hottest Mehndi song. Learn to accept that everyone is equally excited and they only mean well, and your stress level will immediately decrease.

2.SPEND A LITTLE, SAVE A LITTLE

Your wedding is supposed to be the one day you don’t have to take shortcuts on the things you desire, like investing in videographers or going over budget on your dessert table — but learn to prioritize on what is important and what is more a wishful fantasy that may just break the bank. Remember, the more you save now the more you can splurge later on just the two of you.

3.NEVER GO ONLINE

We all know online shopping can be addicting and exciting, and you have probably been stalking Instagram like crazy for wedding inspo, but don’t risk ordering your any of your main outfits online. If you do, make sure you schedule in a fitting, because having that kind of stress and anticipation is simply not worth it!

4.DON’T CHECK THE CLOCK

While most of us run on ‘Pakistan Standard Time’, as the host with 800 things on your plate, don’t let the pace of others get in your way. From tailors going MIA to guests arriving fashionably late, brush off that hosting anxiety and try to go with the flow.

5.ACCEPT THE AUNTIES

Face it, ladies! There will always, and we mean ALWAYS, be that one old croon that is going to ask you when you are going to have a baby, before you even walk down the aisle! Don’t let her win, because she’s looking to get under your skin.

6.YOUR JORA, YOUR WAY

This can go two ways – you can either get the outfit of your dreams, only to have someone make a comment of how you should have gone with another colour for your skin tone, or you could get “obliged” into wearing something that is making others happy and not yourself. All that matters is the memories you make and that you feel like a queen no matter what on your big day.

7.TEST RUN

Trials are a bride’s best friend! You surely want to know how you will look on your wedding day. Make sure your MUA is putting your makeup on the way you like it and that you’re satisfied before your big day.

8.TAKE A MOMENT

You’re headless and juggling ten things at a time – it can all add up to be a bit much. Try and take a step back and give yourself room to enjoy it all. From spending time with your family or letting your bridal party dote on you, make the most of this time! (Psst. our Bridal 101 Kit will have you sorted).

9.DON’T FORGET EACH OTHER

During all the madness, couples can sometimes end up forgetting each other, or spend most of the time fighting about the silly things. At the end of the day, share the love (and the stress) with your hubby to be.

10.HAVE FUN

Not everything will go according to plan, and that’s okay. Everyone is there to see you and celebrate this milestone in your life – so dance the night away!
