Pakistan to Have its First Ever Space Museum Built in Islamabad

PIA Planetariums exist in both Karachi and Islamabad that give a virtual tour of the outer space. Taking that idea one step futher, Fawad Chaudhry, Federal Minister for Science and Technology announced the building of Pakistan’s first ever Space Museum in a meeting with the Scientific Committee of the National Astronomical Observation Commission.He said that the museum would be ready within 8 months.

The commission also decided to set up five astronomical observatories in Pakistan. At the first phase, the observatories will be established in Islamabad and Gwadar.

In his tweet, Fawad Chaudhary said that provinces have also been asked to set up such museums in provincial capitals.

“From looking at the moon to beyond the stars, you will be able to explore the universe in future”, he said. We for one, can’t wait to reach for the stars and the moon.
