Azaan, the call for prayer, echoes across loudspeakers in mosques around Germany and Holland as a gesture of seeking Allah’s mercy during what appears to be the biggest crisis of our time. This took place for the first time in Europe. A video showcasing the Azaan in the heart of Berlin has gone viral on the internet.
According to some reports, approximately 100 mosques in Germany and the Netherlands on Friday rang the call to prayer Azaan on loudspeakers. Be it Germany or Holland, the Azaan is being welcomed as a gesture of support towards the Muslims during this pandemic.
Similarly, even in Pakistan, several people have been reciting the azaan from their rooftops at 10pm as a request for Allah’s mercy. And the sight is simply awe-inspiring.
