4 Ingredient Pasta Recipe that is Ridiculously Good

Who doesn’t love pasta? A delicious warm bowl of perfectly cooked pasta paired with sauce and a sprinkle of cheese is the comfort food of all comfort foods, and we’ve got the simplest, most satisfying and perfectly balanced pasta recipe just for you:

Ingredients:

250 grams  pasta ( Any kind will do)
1 1/2 cups pasta sauce (store bought or home made, both work. Scroll down below for a home made pasta sauce recipe* )
85 grams light cream cheese, softened

Directions:

Bring a medium pot of salted water to a boil. Add pasta and cook according to package instructions, usually 1-2 minutes.

Meanwhile, add pasta sauce to a separate smaller pot. Bring to a boil and then reduce heat to simmer, covered. Stir in cream cheese until smooth.

Once pasta is cooked, toss with sauce. Scoop servings onto individual plates. If desired, sprinkle with Parmesan and basil, and serve with lemon wedges (lemon really amps up the tomato flavor.)

Homemade Sauce:

4 Tbsp salted butter

3 cloves garlic

800 grams canned whole peeled tomatoes

1/2 tsp salt (or to taste)

Freshly cracked pepper

Directions:

Mince the garlic and add it to a large deep skillet with the butter. Sauté the garlic in the butter over medium heat for about a minute, or just until it becomes fragrant. Add the can of tomatoes, along with all the juices, and some freshly cracked pepper. Break the tomatoes up into a few chunks with your spoon.
Stir the ingredients in the skillet, then let it come up to a simmer. Once it reaches a simmer, reduce the heat to medium-low and let it continue to simmer, without a lid, for about 30 minutes. Stir the sauce occasionally as it simmers, breaking the tomatoes into smaller pieces as you stir.

Serve up piping hot with a sprinkling of cheese and enjoy the simple things in life!

P.S If you’re a fan of mushrooms or sausages, feel free to add them in with the sauce for a meatier version.
