Yesterday, the Sindh government announced that the country’s first ever drive through had been set up in District South of Karachi.
Where is it & what does it mean?
It is set up near the Jahangir Kothari Parade in Clifton. The doctors, paramedics and other personnel deployed at the new testing facility in Karachi have been provided with all the necessary safety and protective equipment to safeguard them against the pandemic.
The benefit of this is that instead of the citizens having to go to hospitals for testing, and wait in lines to test for the virus, thereby exposing them to the virus itself – they will be able to use the drive-through testing facility.
How Does it Work?
The citizens will have to take an appointment before they can avail the drive-through testing facility. They will have to call the helpline service established at the South deputy commissioner’s office, which will provide them a code and the appointment time to visit the facility.
A mobile X-ray facility has also been established at the testing centre for necessary clinical examination of the suspected patients of coronavirus.
