24th of January marks World Education Day as proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly to celebrate the role of education in peace and development. Without inclusive and equitable quality education and lifelong opportunities for all, our country will not succeed in achieving gender equality and breaking the cycle of poverty that is leaving millions of children, youth and adults behind.
Did you ever wonder how many girls are enrolled in primary schools?
Do you know, there are only 54,372 schools for a population of 12.6 million girls compared to 95,479 schools for boys who constitute less than half of the school going children in Pakistan. Why? @ImranKhanPTI #BetiParhao

Did you ever wonder how many girls enrolled in schools make it past 9th grade?
Do you know? In Pakistan, more than 30% of primary school age going girls are out of school. Of all the girls enrolled in school, only 13% make it pass the 9th grade. Girls are being deprived of education in the most unacceptable numbers. #BetiParhao @PYCApk

Ever wondered what stops these young girls from being enrolled in schools and universities for gaining an education?
In addition to the factors within the education system, girls are also blocked from attending school by external factors including child labor, gender discrimination, child marriage, sexual harassment, insecurity, and attacks on education. #BetiParhao

How does education create a better future for all?
Recently a study proved that educating a girl for only one additional year of education will result in the girl improving her earnings by 13%. It makes a big difference for the whole society when everyday a girl goes to school! Let’s help in educating girls. #BetiParhao @PYCApk

We need more fathers like Mia Khan:
Your girls are no lesser than your boys.. they have equal rights of Education. #BetiParhao This father is a great example ! Mia Khan takes his daughter 12km on his motorcycle to school daily and waits 4 hours till his daughter’s class ends #کم_سے_کم_١٢_جماعتیں #JummaMubarak pic.twitter.com/pM7H5h4UUY

In context of eastern culture, if you educate one male child you secure financial future of one family and if you educate one female child, you secure future of many generations!! #BetiParhao #کم_سے_کم_۱۲_جماعتیں #JummahMubarak #FridayMotivation #FridayFeeling #FridayThoughts

It’s heartbreaking to see that these girls, instead of being enrolled in schools end up in houses as underage help:
The only little effort could bring change #BetiParhao https://t.co/klmIuTwv53
