27 Years of Mawra Hocane

The phrase “beauty with brains” is what comes to mind when we look at the gorgeous Mawra Hocane. This gorgeous gal just turned 27, and we decided to take her down memory lane to ask her 27 fun filled questions about what birthdays have been like for her over the years. From the time she was 8, to now when she is 27, see all the big birthday highlights in her life:

1.What is the earliest birthday you remember?
My 8th! I celebrated it at school. I had scored really well that year so my vice principal and teachers along with my class fellows celebrated it for me.

 

2.How old were you when you first had a customised cake on your birthday?
I had it for my 18th birthday! My mother knew I really wanted it so she planned it with my best friends.

3.What was your favourite toy as a child?
As cliche as it may sound, it was ALL of my dolls, not just one, haha.

4.Were you more into barbie dolls and doll houses or doctor sets and remote control cars?
Ah, doll houses and barbie dolls all the way!

5.Did you ever dress up in costumes for your birthday? If yes, what did you dress up as?
I wore a tiara for my 18th with a dress my aunt sent from Germany. I don’t think I’ve ever dressed as something but just customised birthdays.

6.Have birthdays always been a big affair in your family or a close knit gathering?
They’ve always been big for me. I am the one who celebrates it for everyone in the house . I think I make it into a bigger deal than it is but I love the surprised faces I get to see.

7.What did you do for your birthday when you finally became a teenager at 13?
I celebrated it with my best friends in an army mess. It was big deal then to throw a party.

8.What did you do for your sweet sixteen?
Strangely this was one birthday I didn’t do much for . I think we were moving houses so I celebrated it with my mum and siblings only .

9.If you could go back, what would you do differently for your sixteenth birthday?
I think I would celebrate it as it’s the only year I didn’t.

10.How did you celebrate the end of your teenage years when you turned 18?
it was a big dine out with all my friends and family & an over dressed me, haha.

11.When you turned 18, what did you aspire to become as an adult – what were your career aspirations and did they come true?
I wanted to be a doctor merely because I had scored a lot in my pre-med but I am so glad God had some other plans for me.

12.What were your plans for your 21st birthday celebration?
I had newly become an actor then so my BBFs threw me a party with that actors cake every actor gets atleast once in their life. It was really warm celebratory night!

13.Regular candles or sparkler candles, which ones do you prefer?
Sparkler

14.How do you like to start your day on your birthday?
I’ve been to old age homes on my birthday mornings. It teaches me gratitude and helps me find happiness in everything.

15.Have you ever had to work on your birthday? If yes, what was that project like?
I have had working birthdays ever since I became an actor . I absolutely love them I am always surrounded by amazing CO actors and great teams .

16.What was the most special gift or gesture you received on your birthday?
The morning call from my mother is the most special; it’s filled with duas and love always!

17.How do your followers make your birthday special?
My God! All the collages and voice notes and Birthday notes- they make it really, really special!

18.What would be a good theme song for your life?
My life’s songs keep on changing . This year I think it was “Thunder” but I am a many-songs kind of person.

19.What would be a good title for a book on your life?
I haven’t thought this through but it could be called “First Page” or something to do with a “Phoenix”

20.What did you do for your birthday this year?
I had multiple celebrations. One at work one with close friends and one as a midnight surprise . I really love birthdays a lot and people around me are kind enough to celebrate me each year.

21.If you could be any age for a week, what age would that be and why?
I think one of the years from the teens; the carefree years.

22.If you could only have one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?
I keep changing my mind but I love eggs so may be different types of eggs.

23.If you could retire tomorrow, what would you do?
Ah, I never ever want to retire . I want to do many things in one lifetime so I don’t see myself retiring, inshAllah.

24.Friends or family – who do you like celebrating with?
Family.

25.If you could have one person on your birthday – dead or alive, who would that be and why?
Lady Diana . I’m extremely inspired by her interview or Nazia Hassan, for the same reason.

26.What life lesson did you learn this year?
I’m learning to set my priorities right but it’s a continuous process .

27.What is your goal for this year?
Hopefully a lot of work, a lot of travelling & sending out more love out in the universe because it always reaches backkkk ❤
