In the budget session of Pakistan’s National Assembly, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Member of National Assembly (MNA) Sanaullah Khan Mastikhel caused an uproar by using vulgar and derogatory language while addressing the Defense Minister, Khawaja Asif.

The episode underscores a pressing issue within parliamentary proceedings: the necessity for maintaining a standard of respectful communication. The National Assembly, as the country’s legislative body, should be a model of civility and constructive debate. Mastikhel’s conduct not only disrupted the session but also highlighted the urgent need for parliamentarians to uphold decorum and show mutual respect, irrespective of political differences.

The suspension serves as a stern reminder that such behavior is unacceptable and that there are consequences for those who fail to adhere to the expected standards. Moving forward, it is imperative that all members of parliament recommit to fostering an environment of respect and professionalism to effectively serve the nation’s interests.
