While some people are still adamant that they cannot skip praying at mosques despite the Coronavirus pandemic, Maulana Tariq Jameel is here to save the day, quite literally.
In an appearance on Samaa TV, Maulana Tariq Jameel talked about an incident that took place during the time of the Holy Prophet SAW, in regards to when one should offer prayers at home and not in mosques:
Hazrat Bilal RA was about to perform the call to prayer, when the Holy Prophet SAW asked him to instruct everyone to pray at home, as it was difficult for everyone to travel to their mosques at that time.
Maulana Tariq Jameel further clarified, saying at that time it was not even a matter of life and death, yet the Holy Prophet SAW asked everyone to pray at home, so there is no question that during this Coronavirus pandemic, where lives can be endangered, everyone should pray at home and not gather at masjids.
For anyone who is still unclear, the host then proceeded to ask Maulana Tariq Jameel point blank if he supports the notion of everyone praying at home at this time of crisis, the Maulana answered ‘Jee, bilkul’, which means yes.
Please do your part and act responsibly and sensibly in this delicate time.
