Marking ten years of dedicated animal welfare work as Lahore’s first NGO for animals, Todd’s Welfare Society (TWS) hosted an exclusive Charity Fundraiser High Tea to unveil plans for its biggest chapter yet: building Pakistan’s largest stray animal sanctuary and hospital.
The event brought together esteemed donors, supporters, and animal welfare advocates to celebrate a major milestone in the organisation’s decade-long mission of rescuing, treating, and sheltering vulnerable animals across the city.
A key highlight of the event was a detailed presentation by Faraz Gayyoor, the project architect, who walked guests through the site map and structural design of the expansive new facility. The blueprint showcased specialised medical and surgical units, dedicated rehabilitation zones, and permanent housing designed to cater to dogs, cats, and various other species.

With the land for the project already acquired, the event launched a major fundraising drive to kick off construction in 2027.
Since its inception as the first NGO in Lahore, Todd’s Welfare Society built the very first animal shelter in Punjab, opening doors in 2018, providing critical veterinary care, long-term shelter for disabled and abandoned animals, and conducting various public awareness initiatives through dedicated outreach programs. However, severe space constraints at current facilities and a rising number of animals requiring long-term care have made the need for a dedicated, large-scale sanctuary essential.
Street animals in Pakistan remain among the most neglected, and the growing demand for rescue work has consistently outpaced the society’s available capacity.
Beyond providing medical treatment and lifelong sanctuary, TWS envisions the new center as an educational hub that fosters national awareness and empathy toward animals.
“For the past 10 years, we’ve been rescuing animals, providing medical care, sheltering disabled and abandoned animals, and working to create greater awareness and compassion,” shared Nabeeha Ayaz, President of Todd’s Welfare Society. “Over the years, we’ve seen far more animals in need than we’ve ever had the capacity to help. This sanctuary is our answer to that growing need, a safe place where animals are treated with dignity, with the hope of sensitising the nation and fostering greater empathy.”

Following the successful unveiling, Todd’s Welfare Society is inviting supporters, corporate donors, and the public to join hands in funding the construction phase to bring this sanctuary to life.
