PM Imran Khan Chose to Meet Ertuğrul’s Founding Team While Victim Families in Macch Await Him

It’s been 5 days since 11 Hazara coal miners were brutally killed by unidentified men at the Macch coalfield. However, this is not the first time that the Shia Hazara community has been a victim of target killing. The victim’s families have refused to bury their dead and sit in the freezing cold on the streets of Quetta till the PM dains to make a visit and pay heed to their very justified demands of protection and security for the Hazara community.

However, the PM has repeatedly made assurances that he will visit but has not put a date on it. And if that wasn’t bad enough, the PM decided to meet the founding team of popular Turkish drama series ‘Diriliş: Ertuğrul’ even when the victim families await him after 5 days of the unjust killing of coal miners.

We talk about Donald Trump taking U-turns and denying his involvement in the breech of the US Capitol last night, never taking into account that our honourable PM has time and time again done the same. While he makes time to meet the founding team of Ertugrul, he fails to take time for a 1 hour plane ride from Islamabad to Quetta to go console and grieve the loss of life in the Mach massacre. All this while the victim’s families and the mutilated bodies sit in the unforgiving cold? Shameful.

Is this the Riyasat of Madina that he repeatedly claims to create in Pakistan? One where the premier would rather entertain Turkish entertainers than visit the grieving families of the victims. To make matters worse, he said “We have accepted all of their demands. [But] one of their demands is that the dead will be buried when the premier visits. I have sent them a message that when all of your demands have been accepted […] you don’t blackmail the prime minister of any country like this.”

Demanding a visit from the premier that you voted to elect – is not an unreasonable when your community undergoes a genocide and the premier does not think it significant enough to show up. Guess you have to be Turkish for the PM to think you’re worthy of a visit.
