Gold Prices Hit an All-Time High in Pakistan at Rs.96,300 per Tola

Gold prices in Pakistan have reached a historic high at Rs.96,300 per tola and parents about to marry of their kids must be sweating bullets.

According to Jewellers association of Sindh, Gold prices have increased by a margin of Rs.2000, reaching Rs.96,300 per tola in the local market. Similarly, the price of 10 grams of gold has increased by Rs.1715, hitting Rs.82,562.

The price increase can be linked back to an increase in the international market, where the shiny metal is trading at $1684, with an increase of $40 per ounce on Monday.

The steady hike in prices can also be credited to tensions in the Persian Gulf, between Iran and the US, following the assassination of General Qassem Soleimani on the 3rd of January.

Gold rates will vary across Pakistan according to local jewellers and their making and wastage policies on gold pieces.
