PSL X Resumes on May 17: Full Schedule, Updated Squads, and Key Matchups Ahead of May 25 Final

Nothing can keep cricket down! After a temporary suspension was put in place to ensure everyone’ s safety, PSL 2025 is all set to restart tomorrow on Saturday, 17th May. The first match-up to take place will be between Peshawar Zalmi and Karachi Kings, at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. Crickets fans around the country can finally get ready for a star-studded, action-packed matches as the tournament gets ready for the final leg. 

Remaining PSL 2025 Schedule

As mentioned earlier, the first match of the restart will begin in Rawalpindi, which is set to host four of the remaining eight matches. Then the tournament plans to move to Lahore, particularly for the knock-out rounds and finals. Here is the planned schedule: 

  • May 17: Peshawar Zalmi vs Karachi Kings – Rawalpindi

  • May 18 (Double-header):

    • Afternoon: Multan Sultans vs Quetta Gladiators – 3:00 PM

    • Evening: Peshawar Zalmi vs Lahore Qalandars – 8:00 PMRawalpindi

  • May 19: Islamabad United vs Karachi Kings – Rawalpindi

The playoffs begin on May 21 in Lahore:

  • May 21: Qualifier – Lahore

  • May 22: Eliminator 1 – Lahore

  • May 23: Qualifier 2 – Lahore

  • May 25: PSL X FinalGaddafi Stadium, Lahore

As PSL begins again, the teams within the tournament have had a chance to finalize their new international signings as a way to strengthen their overall teams. As always, this will include a mix of some familiar players as well as some new, exciting talent:

What’s New: Retention Rules and Future Drafts

Sources confirm that most players brought in for the remaining fixtures will be eligible for retention in the next PSL season, though emergency replacements won’t be granted the same status. With discussions underway about potential league expansion, franchises may be limited to retaining only 3–5 players if new teams are added in 2026.

Context Behind the Suspension

PSL X was briefly halted after escalated tensions earlier in May, including reported drone incursions and missile firings. The decision to pause the tournament was made on the recommendation of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, prioritizing national security and the focus of the country on the Armed Forces’ efforts.

Now, with the situation having stabilized, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has greenlit the return of PSL X. PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi announced the revised schedule via social media, stating:

“HBL PSL X picks up from where it left off! Six teams, zero fear. Let the aura take over as we unite and celebrate the spirit of cricket.”

Tickets and Timings

While ticketing details are expected to be released shortly, fans should note that all matches will begin at 7:30 PM (local time) except for the double-header on May 18, where the afternoon game starts at 3:00 PM and the evening clash kicks off at 8:00 PM.
