Pakistani fashion found a striking international platform at Paris Fashion Week 2026 as acclaimed designer Zainab Chottani presented Bleu Heritage, a luxury collection inspired by the distinctive craftsmanship and visual language of Hala pottery. Showcased through Moda Productions at the elegant Hotel de Maisons in Paris, the collection transformed a deeply rooted Pakistani craft tradition into contemporary couture for an international audience.
Presented on October 2, the showcase brought together renowned buyers, influencers, journalists and fashion industry professionals, offering a global audience an opportunity to experience a fashion collection that placed Pakistani heritage at its centre. The event was also attended by the French Ambassador for Pakistan Nicolas Galey and Camelia Galey, alongside Ambassador Mumtaz Zahra Baloch and Tariq Suleman, as well as Zainab Chottani’s family and friends.

Bleu Heritage: Where Pakistani Craft Meets Contemporary Luxury
Known for her elaborate bridal couture and emphasis on traditional craftsmanship, Zainab Chottani approached Bleu Heritage through a different interpretation of heritage.
The collection takes inspiration from Hala pottery, translating its recognisable motifs, colours and decorative language into intricate fashion pieces. Rather than reproducing the craft literally, the collection interprets its visual identity through embroidery, texture and luxurious fabrics.

Floral and geometric patterns inspired by traditional Hala pottery appear through detailed resham threadwork, zardozi, kora and dabka, complemented by beads, sequins and crystal embellishments. Selected designs also incorporate appliqué and textural embroidery, creating greater depth and dimension across the garments.
The result is a collection where traditional Pakistani craftsmanship becomes part of a contemporary luxury vocabulary.

The Beauty of Hala Pottery Reimagined:
Hala pottery has a distinctive visual identity, particularly through its decorative patterns and colour combinations. For Bleu Heritage, these elements became a foundation for the collection’s embroidery and surface detailing.
This approach allows the collection to communicate something beyond fashion. It presents craftsmanship as a form of cultural memory one that can move from traditional objects and artisanal practices into modern couture.

The collection therefore becomes a meeting point between Pakistan’s artistic heritage and international fashion. Rather than separating heritage from contemporary design, Zainab Chottani demonstrates how traditional influences can be transformed while retaining their cultural character.

An Emphasis on Detailed Craftsmanship:
The craftsmanship is at the heart of Bleu Heritage.
The collection combines multiple traditional embellishment techniques, including resham, zardozi, kora and dabka, with contemporary surface treatments involving beads, sequins, crystals and appliqué. The layering of these techniques gives the garments a highly detailed finish while creating the dimensional quality associated with couture.

The choice of fabrics further contributes to the collection’s movement and luxury. Fluid chiffon, pure silks, jacquard silk, raw silk and French lamé were selected for their individual texture, finish, movement and drape.
This combination of fabric and embroidery allows the collection to balance structure with movement, ensuring that the intricate embellishment remains visually expressive on the runway.

A Runway Soundtrack with an Eastern Soul:
Fashion was not the only element connecting the presentation to the region’s cultural identity.
The soundtrack for the runway was produced and mixed by Shahi Hasan of Vital Signs. Created specifically for the showcase, the music incorporated a song performed by Ustaad Zafar Ali Khan, transforming an eastern folk melody into an energetic house-inspired track for the runway.

The musical direction complemented the collection’s central idea: bringing an element of South Asian cultural heritage into a contemporary international setting. It also ensured that the presentation was not limited to visual storytelling. The cultural references extended into the soundscape, creating a more immersive representation of Pakistani identity.

Pakistani Fashion on an International Stage:
One of the most significant aspects of the showcase was its international setting.
Paris remains one of the world’s most influential fashion capitals, making the presentation an important platform for Pakistani design and craftsmanship. By taking inspiration from Hala pottery and translating it into luxury fashion, Zainab Chottani placed a specific element of Pakistani cultural heritage within a global fashion conversation.

The collection was also broadcast through Zainab Chottani’s official Instagram account, allowing audiences outside Paris to experience the showcase and see Pakistani design represented on the international stage.
This wider accessibility added another dimension to the presentation, allowing the collection to reach audiences beyond the guests physically present at the Hotel de Maisons.

A Cross-Cultural Fashion Moment:
The showcase also highlighted the international appeal of the collection through its collaborations.
Celebrated Ukrainian model Snejana Onopka, known for her work in international fashion during the mid-2000s, wore a customised Zainab Chottani piece from the collection.
Meanwhile, Meghna Pahwa Sahni explored the streets of Paris wearing selected pieces from Bleu Heritage, offering another visual interpretation of the collection beyond the runway itself. These cross-cultural appearances reinforced the collection’s ability to move between different fashion environments while maintaining its connection to South Asian craftsmanship.

Zainab Chottani’s Heritage-Led Vision:
For Zainab Chottani, Bleu Heritage represents more than an international fashion presentation. It reflects an approach to design in which heritage becomes a source of creative exploration.
The collection demonstrates how traditional craftsmanship can be translated into a contemporary luxury context without losing its connection to its origins.
The subtle references to the subcontinent’s distinctive craftsmanship are visible throughout the collection, making heritage an integral part of the designs rather than simply an additional decorative element.
This is particularly significant for Pakistani fashion, where embroidery, artisanal techniques and regional crafts have long formed an essential part of the country’s design identity.

A New Chapter for Pakistani Fashion in Paris:
With Bleu Heritage, Zainab Chottani has added another international milestone to her fashion journey.
The Paris showcase successfully brought together Pakistani heritage, couture craftsmanship and contemporary luxury, presenting a collection that was deeply connected to its cultural inspiration while being designed for a global fashion audience.
The collection’s inspiration from Hala pottery gives it a distinctive identity, while its intricate embroidery, luxurious fabrics and international presentation allow that identity to resonate beyond Pakistan.

Ultimately, Bleu Heritage is a celebration of the idea that heritage does not have to remain in the past. It can be reinterpreted, reshaped and carried into new spaces.
At Paris Fashion Week, Zainab Chottani did exactly that bringing the colours, motifs and craftsmanship associated with Pakistani heritage to one of the world’s most important fashion capitals and allowing them to speak through contemporary couture.
Through Bleu Heritage, Pakistani craftsmanship found a new canvas in Paris.
