All the fashionistas in town have their calendars full this week because Pakistan Fashion Design Council’s L’Oréal Paris Bridal Couture week is here. One of our favorite collections from this year has to be Asma Aslam’s , ‘Serene Glam.’ With a total of 16 outfits, the collection drew inspiration from the moment the sun kisses the sky at sunrise. It combined intricate and bold patterns fused with the hues of early morning, to create a balance between modern and traditional elements.
The ‘Serene Glam’ collection features beautiful embellishments, gradation of color and a modern version of classic silhouettes. Asma says, “I believe clothes tell a story about women and the intention of this collection is to give women earthy, modern and a dreamy feel while keeping their fragility alive.”
Actress Sara Loren was the showstopper for the collection and emulated a golden goddess as she walked the ramp for Asma in the gold mystery bridal outfit. Designed for glamorous brides, the collection included lehengas, gowns, shararas, sarees, crop tops and skirts.
Commenting on why she chose Sara as the showstopper for the night, Asma says, “Sara has a unique face with the blend of modern and earthy features. She carries the outfit in a very magical and elegant style with the bunch of glamour. She is a combination of glamour and earthy beauty for the perfect reflection of modern-day women.”
All in all, the collection was a huge success. We’re looking forward to seeing more of Asma’s designs in the future and more of her brides in the coming wedding season.
