The World’s Most Expensive Omelette Costs $2,000

What? Did you read that right? Yes. You did. Now we already know by watching Gossip Girl that Manhattan isn’t a cheap place to live in, but hold on – an omelette for $2000! That’s an exorbitant amount. But hold your horses. Let’s see what this omelette includes – traces of gold? haha!

Dubbed the “Zillion Dollar Lobster Frittata,” the breakfast omelete in question includes 10 ounces of Sevurga caviar, an entire lobster, six fresh eggs, cream, chives and lobster sauce. It’s served over a bed of Yukon gold potatoes. It is available at Norma’s in Le Parker Meridien Hotel. Initially, this omelette was features in an episode of CNBC’s “Secret Lives of the Super Rich” in April 2016, when it only cost $1,000. But the restaurant doubled the price of the dish to reflect the quality and cost of the caviar. It now reflects $2,000.

Now we know what you’re wondering – who can afford this omelette? Frankly, we’re not ready to break the bank for this two thousand dollar omelette but it turns out that Norma’s sells only 12 “Zillion Dollar Frittatas” every year. But that’s still 12 omelettes that get sold for $2,000 each!

Mind blown yet? Ours was too!
