Dubai on a Plate: 6 Must-Try Restaurants That Redefine Dining in the City

On our unforgettable Dubai trip—organized by Visit Dubai—we savored some of the city’s most captivating eateries. Each spot offered a unique experience, blending the heritage of local flavors with contemporary flair. Here’s what made them stand out:

Sufret Maryam (Wasl 51, Jumeirah)

Sufret Maryam

Chef-owner Salam Daqqaq, winner of MENA’s Best Female Chef and part of the “Best of the Best” culinary circle, presents Sufret Maryam, a Michelin Bib Gourmand‑listed restaurant in 2025.

We were charmed by a design that felt like a warm Levantine home—olive trees, personal photographs, stone arches, and heritage art blended into a calm, elegant vibe. The menu is lean and lovingly curated: cold and hot mezze, soups, mains and sides.

Wavehouse (Atlantis Aquaventure, Palm Jumeirah)

Wavehouse

Wavehouse delivers high-energy dining with endless entertainment. Situated right beside the legendary Aquaventure waterpark, it balances food, games, and family fun effortlessly.

We sat on the buzzing terrace, tuned into live music, surrounded by swing seats, a bowling alley and indoor play area for kids. The food? Tasty comfort fare like chicken quesadillas and paramgana, ideal for sharing and easy to love. It’s lively, social, and perfect for a relaxed midday break.

CÉ LA VI (Downtown Dubai, Address Sky View)

Ce La Vi

Perched on floor 54, CÉ LA VI offers dazzling views of Dubai’s skyline. The vibe is sleek and cosmopolitan, almost club‑like, but with elevated Asian-inflected Mediterranean fare that matches the setting.

We loved the ambiance, impeccable service, and well-crafted mains—from sushi to steaks—with desserts that cap the meal memorably. We found it ideal for an unforgettable night out with a view.

Revelry (Dubai Hills Estate)

Revelry

A modern Indian tapas bar conceptualized by the team behind Michelin‑recognized avatāra, Revelry celebrates India in fun, small-plate form. Everything felt playful but precise, from paneer tacos to butter-masala pasta with coriander pesto.

Fifth Flavor

Fifth Flavour

Founded by two Emirati sisters, Fifth Flavor channels pan‑Asian comfort with umami‑driven creativity. The restaurant’s unusual “Bao’gers,” chicken katsu with gochujang and chicken floss, and seared Wagyu 9+ with Japanese tonkatsu sauce were hits on our table.

SALT (Dubai Mall)

SALT

SALT may have started as a beachside food truck, but at its Dubai Mall outpost it stands tall with wagyu sliders and crowd‑pleasing milkshakes. It’s relaxed, retro and wallet‑friendly—and yes, it lives up to its burger fame. It’s a fun stop if you’re craving casual, feed‑the‑need comfort food between upscale meals
