As the past week saw tensions flare up between India and Pakistan, many of us were genuinely worried about the outcome of said tensions. Luckily, things started to settle down, particularly due to good restraint by our State and the intervention of foreign powers to ensure a ceasefire came in place. Throughout all this stress and uncertainty, the internet did what it does best, found a new crush: Air Vice Marshal Aurangzeb Ahmed.
While the nation was updated about the situation at the time, the internet could not get over the natural charisma and subtle effective jabs by our very own Air Vice Marshal Aurangzeb Ahmed. From ‘Pookie’ to “AURAngzeb”, X/Twitter could not stop fawning over Aurangzeb Ahmed. So here’s the best of the internet’s reaction:
So what is Pookie?
For all those not familiar with Gen-Z internet lingo, ‘Pookie’ is a term of endearment, referring to anything cute, usually reserved for a loved one or romantic partner. The internet, on the other hand, likes to have a rotation of ‘Pookies’, i,e, their crush of the week. So in an internet sense, it just means people find him endearing.
The Aura
Another name that everyone has given to Air Vice Marshal Aurangzeb Ahmed is ‘Aura’. Obviously the nickname is just a shorter version of his actual name, but Aura does actually have a meaning. It is defined as a distinctive and pervasive quality or character surrounding an object or person. Colloquially, and on the internet, it is used to describe someone’s presence in a positive light, highlighting their natural charisma.
Natural Charisma or Rizz
Between his natural aura or his subtle jabs towards the Indian army, AVM Aurangzeb Ahmed has taken the internet by storm. For the uninformed, ‘Rizz’ is basically just a shortened version of charisma, used as another word of charm or game, as millennials would have called it. It got so bad, the internet was even hunting for his wedding ring!
Legendary Standing
Overall, AVM Aurangzeb Ahmed not only helped keep our country safe, we kept our country, or atleast the internet, focused on a singular goal – HIM. Probably was unintentional, but still an impressive feat in itself. The internet is a fickle place, hard to impress. Glad to see even foreign accounts engaging with such positive representations of Pakistan.
