India vs Pakistan

Tensions between India and Pakistan have reached new heights over the past week, drawing widespread attention — including from celebrities. While nearly all public figures condemned the initial terror attack in Indian-occupied Kashmir, it wasn’t long before the Modi government began branding all Pakistanis as terrorists — a narrative swiftly echoed by much of the mainstream Indian media and public discourse. In response, many voices within Pakistan have criticised this sweeping portrayal, warning of the real-world consequences such political rhetoric can have on ordinary people.

Here’s how some of our own stars have responded:

Mahira Khan

After initially posting to her story, Mahira Khan wrote an in depth, thought-provoking instagram post talking about how much hate is being used within the mainstream Indian media against Pakistan. This coming from one of the few celebrities who has worked within Bollywood, this is definitely impactful.

Zara Noor Abbas

Zara Noor Abbas shared an empathetic response to what all is happening whilst drawing from her own experiences of fear and anxiety. She further took to her Instagram to post about how war is not the answer. 

Marwa and Urwa Hocane

Superstar sisters, one of which has smashed records in Bollywood herself, took to instagram to point out how innocent lives will be the one’s lost in this battle of egos. 

Farhan Saeed

Musician and actor Farhan Saeed thanked Jinnah for the creation of Pakistan, pointing out the treatment of muslims within current day India. 

Mansha Pasha

After previously calling out Indian celebrities for their reaction to this situation, Pasha took to her stories to showcase the pain most Pakistanis felt after the missile strikes. 

Osman Khalid Butt

Osman Khalid Butt commented on an Indian account on X that said, “Tomorrow morning: Pajistanis will play victim like Gaza by showing children under rubble.”

Butt replied, “Zionists and Hindutva extremists really are cut from the same cloth”, pointing out the similarity in language between the two racists ideologies. 

Hasan Raheem

Like many people within Pakistan, the Joona star was quick to call out both the terrorist attacks in India whilst pointing out those celebrating the death of a young boy within Pakistan through Indian military missiles.

Aima Baig

Superstar singer took to her stories to point out how heavy her heart has been the past few days, and how we as Pakistanis will not back down. 

Kubra Khan

Khan wrote, “I don’t think anyone is sleeping tonight. There is no joy in innocent lives being taken. No matter where they are. Sadly, I see celebrations over a child’s death. This breaks my heart. I pray for safety for all of us.”
