Hey Sunday Readers! Sarah Raza, the managing partner of L’atelier, the premiere multi brand store in Islamabad and mother of two, takes on the 180 Degrees 40 Day Bootcamp challenge. Here’s her first week’s update and progress:
P.S: She’s offering a 10 percent discount at L’atelier, Islamabad on selected designers to fellow 180 Degrees boot campers upon showing their ID and a copy of Sunday Magazine. YAY!
Day 1: Wow Islamabadis! I am so impressed with the turnout! So many people, especially women are at the bootcamp. Ohhh God! First day wasn’t easy and here I was thinking how hard can this be, I already hit the gym 4 times a week but this was definitely a game changer. And this is what I come home to- a full fledged meal. Thanks mom but I ignore all and have a salad… feeling so motivated!
Day 2: Can’t move, cant walk, cant think but dragged myself and we get killed by so many crunches! There is cardio without using machines and such a variety of moves, huffing and puffing, I feel like I am going to collapse… But I MADE IT and another day down!
Day 3: I didn’t even know half these muscles existed in my body, there is pain in places I won’t even mention! I am on one sofa, then on another chair, then collapse on the bed; my kids are wondering why our mother is doing this to herself! Lo and behold the weights day isn’t so bad today and I just remembered I followed the meal plan to the T (imaginary pat on the back). Feeling so light and fit and then I catch my reflection in the mirror… and whoops, need to keep going strong. Plus eating healthy isn’t so bad, I’m actually quite enjoying it.
Day 4: Skip to bootcamp and oh Lord, these guys know how to torture us. Kill the abs and then the cardio is harder than ever, how does Anis (the trainer) look so good doing these moves? I look like something the cat dragged out from the garbage! But the feeling once you are done is priceless! Actually sad about the two-day holiday due to ashura and very sad about the Lahore team leaving- Oj and Anis you guys will be missed.
But on the bright side I’m getting used to the cleansing juice too. Yay ME!
Day 5: The only thing I am looking forward to is the cheat meal at 2pm- I have planned to fit some of my favorite things into that meal! I have delicious Biryani and crispy french fries… yes, I know it is a weird combination but had to have it. And, that wasn’t it! I had some scrumptious hazelnut Lindt chocolate as well. After that Friday was over for me. I became a whale and couldn’t move, couldn’t get up, and actually felt sick. Note to self: control yourself for next week!
Day 6: Today I had the energy to do the workout Anis had posted for Friday. It felt so good to go back to eating healthy and I actually miss the bootcamp… This weekend has become too long and so gloomy because of the non-stop rain.
Day 7: The cleansing day- I can’t believe Sundays of all days has to be the cleansing day. Why? Oh why? Especially in this rain and cold one wants to just munch on some hot pakoras and chai and here I am having protein shakes and juices… sad but I hope worth it. Gearing up for next week!
Stay tuned for Sarah’s update and progress as she continues her challenge.
