Lahore hosted the biggest photography competition of all time – â€œTasveer-e- Pakistanâ€. And we bring you everything you need to know about it.
The idea behind Tasveer-e-Â Pakistan was to showcase Pakistan in the best positive manner. With the kind of political volatility we experience around us, initiatives like Tasveer e Pakistan help rekindle the spirit and uplift the morale of the people.
One Frame Media & PR in collaboration with Government Of Punjab,R&D Youth Connect Punjab,CityÂ District Government Lahore,Leisure Club,The Urban Unit,Pak-Arab Developers and Frusta DelightsÂ decided to portray the positive side of Pakistan through photographs, which in our sight was the mostÂ different and effective way of portraying the real positive and brighter Pakistan to the world.
A number of 500+ persons all around the Pakistan participated in our photography contest withÂ participation of 1591 entries, all depicting the beauty of Pakistan. Top ten were awarded medals and top 3Â were presented shields along with the cash prizes. Certificates were provided to top 100 participants.Â The jury members consisted of Mr.Agha Rizwan Ali (United Nations Development Program ContestÂ Peopleâ€™s Choice Winner) along with Dr. Naqeeb Hussain and Mr.Khalil Shah.Â Winner of the competition, Faraz Saeed praised the holding of such competitions which promote theÂ photographers and encourage them to come up with good ideas. He said that his photo of a little girl withÂ the backpack, going to school, was of Hunza Valley. One of the top Ten was a Japanese national, residingÂ in Lahore for 1.5 years, said that she had a happy stay in Pakistan, a beautiful country where everyoneÂ was so good to her that she was able to capture pictures, and that she will definitely promote Pakistan andÂ its positivity among her Japanese friends and will request them to visit Pakistan.
During the ceremony at the end of exhibition, Singer Sami Khan paid tribute to philanthropist AbdulÂ Sattar Edhi. The event was concluded with the prize distribution by Malik Zahid Mustafa. The chiefÂ guest, Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Shareef along Punjab Education Minister Rana Mashhood couldÂ not attend the event because of an important meeting, for which they had to leave few hours before theÂ inauguration.
Ceremony was enlightened by the great-grandson of Sir Syed Ahmed Khan, Sir Syed Asadullaah, whoÂ appreciated the efforts of One Frame and urged everyone to show the positivity of Pakistan to the world.Â Tasveer-e- Pakistan showed another great side, a tolerant and peace loving Pakistan, by invitingÂ Coordinator to Youth Mobilization Committee CM Punjab, Sardar Atthar Singh. He cherished the effortsÂ and participation of people and admired the concept of the event.
The main focus was toÂ provide a platform to people to give platform where they could showcase their hidden talent. Events likeÂ these should be held on regular basis in order to promote our beautiful country. Not only does it showcase theÂ beauty of Pakistan but it also encourages talented people to come up and show their talent to the world.
