On Pakistan’s 70th Independence Commemorations, celebrities pay their tribute to Pakistan as a part of Peek Frean Sooper’s Independence campaign, #SooperHaiPakistan.
Sarwat Gillani, an esteemed actor of Pakistan’s media industry, shared her love for the country. She stated “It’s about time we appreciate how lucky we are as a nation to be bestowed with a wealth of natural resources, and breath taking places like Saif-ul-Mulk, Swat Valley, K2, and Kashmir – known to be heaven on earth.”
Asim Azhar, a vocalist who has gained immense recognition for his soulful voice, shared, “I would like to acknowledge how blessed we are as a nation to have legendary singers like Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Amjad Sabri, and Nazia Hasan who are no longer present with us, but their music will always remain in our hearts!”
Aiman Khan, who has been wooing audiences by way of her screen presence from an early age, stated, “On this Independence Day, I would like to appreciate the wonderful drama industry of Pakistan. We have produced record breaking dramas that have gained praises from all around the world for their unique storylines,”
The singer turned actor paid his tribute by admiring the talent of the industry.
“On the 70th Independence Day, I want to celebrate the talented actors of Pakistan such as Waheed Murad, Muhammad Ali, Sultan Rahi, Nadeem Baig, Moin Akhtar who have worked relentlessly to make Pakistan proud,” Khan stated.
Pakistan’s all-rounder, Shoaib Malik, also had words of appreciation for the country’s cricket team. He stated, “No one plays cricket like we do – with a lot of passion and persistence – we have faced setbacks, and have risen up with greater aplomb in the sporting world.”
Former Pakistan left-arm bowler and heartthrob of millions across the world, Wasim Akram, paid tribute to famous personalities that have achieved world records. He stated, “From Abdul Sattar Edhi to Jahangir Khan, we have seen individuals that have broken world records, and proved their mettle on an international platform.”
Sara Khan, the talented actress who has carved a place for herself in the entertainment industry, stated, “I want to celebrate and recognize the amazing superwomen of our nation – from Fatima Jinnah, to Sabeen Mahmud – from Masarrat Misbah, to Samina Baig – these great women define Pakistan, defend Pakistan and who are Pakistan!”

The nation’s top tennis player, Aisam Ul Haq, shared his appreciation for talented individuals. Anoushey Ashraf, popular VJ and actress, conveyed her appreciation for Pakistan’s newly revived cinema.
